3D画像マッピング

海底の3D画像マッピングは、生物調査、環境モニタリング、水中考古学や資源調査など、多くの分野に適用されています。しかし、陸上や宇宙とは違って、水中では光が減衰するため、写真を撮影するにはロボットを使って海底から2~3mまで近づいて撮影する必要があります。海底面との衝突の危険もあり、さらに一枚一枚の写真で見える範囲が狭いため、広い範囲の調査はとても時間が掛かります。
本研究室では、カメラや、照明、画像処理に最新の技術を応用し、8~10mの高高度から海底の3D画像マッピング装置の開発と、実海域展開とデータの自動解析手法の研究を行っています。本システムを使って、海底熱水域、ガスハイドレートやサンゴ礁で広い範囲の生物調査を実施しています。
